Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how Kiin Baby Pty Ltd (Kiin Baby, Kiin, we or us) collects, uses and shares personal information when you browse, shop with us or contact our team, online or at our HQ shopfront.

The short version

• We use your information to look after your orders, answer questions and run our store.
• Our website uses cookies and tools for shopping, analytics and advertising.
• Marketing is optional, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• You can contact us to access or correct your information, ask about deletion or raise a privacy concern.

What we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses.
• Order, payment status, purchase and return history, account details, store credit and gift card records.
• Messages, reviews, photos and other information you choose to share with our team.
• Your marketing preferences and records of consent or unsubscribe requests.
• Device and browsing information, such as IP address, approximate location, browser, cookie identifiers, pages viewed, cart activity and interactions with emails or advertisements.

We collect information directly from you when you shop, create an account, complete a form or contact us. Our website also collects some information automatically. We may receive order, delivery, payment or advertising information from the providers that help us run our business.

You can browse without giving us your name. If you choose not to provide information needed for an order or enquiry, we may be unable to complete it. Please only share another person's details, such as a gift recipient's address, where you have authority to do so.

How we use it

We use personal information to process payments, pack and deliver orders, provide customer support, manage returns and accounts, prevent fraud, maintain business records and meet legal obligations. We also use browsing and shopping information to understand what is working, improve our store, personalise shopping and measure or deliver relevant advertising.

We may use information for a promotion, review or survey you choose to take part in, as explained when you participate. We do not usually need sensitive information, such as health information; please avoid including it in general enquiries. If it is needed, we will explain why and obtain consent where required.

Email and SMS messages

We send marketing emails or texts with your consent, or where another lawful basis for sending the message applies. Simply placing an order or entering your phone number does not automatically sign you up to marketing. Signing up is optional and is not a condition of purchasing.

To unsubscribe, use the unsubscribe link in an email or follow the opt-out instructions in a text. Only reply STOP where the message says replies are supported. You can also email support@kiinbaby.com. We action marketing unsubscribe requests within five working days. Order, delivery and other necessary service messages may still be sent.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies, pixels and similar tools to operate the cart and checkout, remember preferences, protect our store, analyse visits and show or measure advertising. Providers include Shopify, Google, Meta and Klaviyo. These tools may collect or receive browsing, device, contact and shopping information, and advertising providers may connect it with information they hold from other sources.

You can manage cookies through your browser. Where a cookie banner or privacy choices control is available for your region, you can use it to manage the choices offered. Blocking some cookies may affect shopping features. Browser settings do not necessarily control every form of advertising or account-based data sharing; contact us if you need help with a privacy request.

Who we share information with

We share relevant information with providers that help operate our business, including our ecommerce platform, payment providers, shipping software and carriers, email and SMS services, analytics and advertising services, review tools, IT providers and professional advisers. Examples include Shopify, Klaviyo, Google, Meta, Starshipit and delivery carriers.

Payment providers process your payment details under their own privacy policies. Kiin does not keep full payment card numbers in its customer records. The payment options available for your order are shown at checkout.

We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, to investigate fraud or protect legal rights, or as part of a genuine business sale or restructure with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell customer lists for unrelated businesses to market to you. Some advertising-related sharing may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under privacy laws in particular regions.

Shopify and overseas processing

Shopify hosts our online store. We also use Shopify Network Intelligence, which allows Shopify to use personal information about interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to improve services, advertising and personalisation. This processing is not limited to anonymous information.

Read Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy for details. You can manage relevant choices or make a request about Shopify's own processing through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Some providers are located overseas or store or access information overseas. Our Shopify hosting location is the United States. Klaviyo also stores customer data in the United States and may provide support from Australia, Ireland, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Other processing locations depend on the provider and service used. We take reasonable steps, where required by applicable privacy law, to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information appropriately. You can contact us for more information about relevant providers and processing locations.

Gift registries

Our gift registry is powered by MyRegistry, a separate service with its own account and privacy practices. If you create or use a registry, MyRegistry receives the details you provide, such as your name, email, event details, gift list and delivery information. Registry information may be visible to others depending on your privacy settings. Please check those settings before sharing a list. Google Customer Reviews

If you opt in to Google Customer Reviews after purchasing, relevant order information and your email address may be shared with Google so it can send a shopping experience survey. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Keeping information safe and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, disclosure or changes. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including tax and accounting records, returns, disputes, fraud prevention and legal obligations. When it is no longer needed and the law permits, we take reasonable steps to delete it or make it no longer identifiable. A deletion request may not remove records we are required or entitled to retain.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, request deletion, or withdraw marketing consent by emailing support@kiinbaby.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We aim to respond within a reasonable time, typically 10 business days; if more time is needed, we will let you know. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain why, subject to any legal restrictions.

Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply, such as rights to object to processing, receive a copy of data or opt out of targeted advertising. Contact us to exercise rights relating to Kiin's handling of your information. Shopify's portal above deals with Shopify's own processing.

Children's information

Our store is intended for adult shoppers. Parents and carers may choose to provide details about a child in an enquiry, gift registry or other service. Please share only what is needed. If you believe a child has provided information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can look into it.

Questions or concerns

We are committed to respecting your privacy and handling information in line with applicable Australian privacy law. Please contact us first if you have a concern, with enough detail for us to investigate. We aim to resolve privacy complaints within 30 days and will keep you informed if more time is needed. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or another privacy regulator that applies to you.
